OMG is Jace really updating his blog?  LOL I guess so.  I haven't posted an update since the summer time--so yeah, the Fall, it came and it went.  Nothing major happened.  Today I am still the science fiction, Disney loving geek I was this past summer!

Speaking of Disney, I'm going again!  I leave this Sunday afternoon for a get away at the "happiest place on earth" and boy do I need a get away.  Things aren't horrible but I'm just busy as always.  Work is really busy and I have some more responsibilities which is good and I'm still teaching at the University which is also good.  But take a full-time, plus job along with teaching part-time with normal, everyday life and it adds up. 

I have been seeing quite a few movies as of late as the girlfriend (oh yeah, Mr. I don't want to get married or date is dating someone!  Long story but I am seeing a terrific girl who isn't afraid of the Star Wars collection LOL) and I have been hitting the movies quite a bit.  I've seen movies like "Sherlock Holmes", "Avatar", "New Moon", and the "Tooth Fairy" as of late.  And to be honest it has me asking if Hollywood can make good movies any longer.  Of that list of "blockbusters", the movie that I liked the most was "Tooth Fairy" and I normally can't stand the Rock, oh wait yeah he now goes by Dwayne Johnson (my bad).  "Sherlock Holmes" had great acting with a decent storyline but the way it was presented made me lose interest.  "Avatar" was too damn long and I got bored along with a sore butt from the uncomfortable chair in the theater and "New Moon" made me wonder what all the hype was about.

Interestingly enough I haven't been doing much scifi collecting as of late.  I have become a hockey nut the last few months.  I've always been a fan of the Reading Royals of the ECHL (as noted by them having a page on this site) but I've broadened my horizons and I now have XM satellite radio where I listen to NHL Home Ice whenever I'm in the car and I purchased the NHL Center Ice package so I can get all of the hockey games.  The Pittsburgh Penguins have become my favorite team and no I'm not a bandwagon jumper because they won the Stanley Cup last year.  I started watching them last year because the AHL team closest to me is the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins and I caught a few games last year.  It was cool seeing those guys get NHL call up so I started watching the Pittsburgh Penguins.  It of course doesn't hurt that they have the best hockey player in the NHL in the form of Sidney Crosby along with other notables like Evgeni Malkin.  So pretty much every night I'm watching hockey on TV, if I'm not a Royals game.  Only made one WBS Pens game so far this season which I'm going to have to try and get to at least one more before the season ends.  I've also been collecting hockey cards and I bought a few hockey jerseys including a Crosby jersey for which I got teased endlessly for wearing to a Royals game.

Aside from that, all else is fine.  I've been meaning to work on the "Matt Starre" fan fic I was writing this summer and I have some ideas for the next chapter.  You may just yet see another installment before the end of February.
