Well the weekend is just about over :( I have to say I honestly live for the weekends because my week days are so busy that they don't leave me a lot of time for myself between my full-time job and my adjunct faculty position. So the weekends are when I really have a good time and this weekend was no exception. It has been a few days since I updated my "Observations" so here is an update, by day, on how things went: Thursday, March 4th: Thursday was a hectic day as I worked in one of my Philadelphia area facilities in the morning and then had a meeting in the afternoon at one of my company's Philadelphia area facilities. It was a great day, just commuting made it more hectic because I have only been to the center where the meeting was a few times. But I found it well and had a great day. Thursday night the Reading Royals took on the Kalamazoo Wings in what turned out to be a travesty of justice! It was a well played first period with each team scoring goals to bring it to a tie. The second period started with the K-Wings scoring two goals to give them a 4-2 lead and that is when all hell broke loose. A K-wing player made a shot on goal and you heard the puck hit the post and saw it then go out on to the ice. The referee called it a goal! It clearly was NOT a goal. The replay on the video board even showed it did not go in but the stupid ref called it a goal. Needless to say the fans went NUTS. I think the "Ref, you suck" chant went just about the rest of the second period. The final score was 6-3 in favor of Kalamazoo. Oh yeah, by the way, REF YOU SUCK! Friday, March 5th: I have to say that Friday was fairly uneventful. I had a pretty good day at work although I cheated at lunch time because I forgot my lunch at home so a coworker and I got a stromboli from a local pizzaria. I don't even recall what I did Friday night except rested while watching some shows like Caprica. Saturday, March 6th: Ah Saturday, my favorite day of the week! I slept in a bit and got up around 8 AM. I got ready and a friend an I decided to spend the day flea-marketing and then going to the Royals game. The day started off with me running a few errands (bank and then dropped some stuff of at work). My work errand ran a bit long and I felt bad because my friend was waiting for me. We had wanted to go for breakfast at one of our two favorite restaurants but by the time we got there it was almost 11 AM. So we decided to get lunch instead. Afterwards, we went to a combination farmer's market / flea market (both in-door and out-door) called Q-Mart in Quakertown, PA. It has quickly become one of my favorite places and I had a nice time. Didn't buy much except for some deodorant and hand sanitizer that I got for good prices (I know how exciting right!). We then went to another farmer's market / flea market called Zern's in Gilbertsville, PA. Again didn't buy anything but it was just great walking around and browsing. Then it was on to the Royals game where Reading took on the Johnstown Chiefs. It was a great game that saw the Royals come out ahead of the Chiefs. Ole! Sunday, March 7th: I slept in a bit on Sunday by getting up around 7 AM (as opposed to my regular 6 AM during the week). I surfed the net for a bit mindlessly and then did some reading and email for school. After eating my left overs from Saturday I took a 2 hour nap! After I got up (again) I got ready for the day and then along with my dad, uncle, and aunt went to the Royals game. Reading took on the Kalamazoo Wings again and to be honest I was nervous especially after the last game. Well this had to be one of the best games of the season. It was well fought on both sides and it seemed every time one team scored, the other team would come back and tie it. And that is how the third period ended, with a tie. So we went to sudden death over-time where Olivier Labelle scored to win it for the Royals! We finally got a win over Kalamazoo and it was a great game for me to take my uncle and aunt to. And that brings me up to the present time! I am sitting here all ready for bed, just writing my blog and getting ready to sleep! I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed week! Jace |
