History:

Nurider Smox was born on the planet Dantooine where as a child he was befriended by a Mon Calamari named Jorun Maitar.  As children, Nurider and Jorun would explore the lush planet they lived on.  At the young age of five, Nurider was taken to Yavin 4 when he was discovered to be force sensitive.  Although he spent most of his time on Yavin, he remained in close contact with his friends back on Dantooine, especially Jorun.

Nurider studied hard and became very knowledgeable about the ways of the force.  Yet something always bothered him.  Although he had been Knighted, he felt that there was more out there to be learned, he just didn’t know how to go about it.  At the time of the Swarm War, when Luke Skywalker had asked that anyone who felt they couldn’t put the order first to leave—Nurider was compelled by his continued urge to seek out new knowledge.  Therefore, he left the order and after saying goodbye to his friends on Dantooine—set off on a course of self-enlightenment.

His journey took him to the Unknown Regions of space and he eventually made his way to the planet Verotia.  Nurider was warmly welcomed by the Verotians who were humanoid in nature, but with an average height of 7 feet, they were a great deal taller than most humanoids.  Smox discovered that their mental capacities allowed them to read his mind and he speculated that the Verotians would have the capacity to read the minds of most humanoids.

The Verotians were a peaceful people who preferred a simple way of life despite having technology that far surpassed anything the known universe had seen.  They lived in simple houses and depended on agriculture as a means of living, but they did have patrol ships that guarded their orbit.

During the over time that he spent there, he became a vital member of the Verotian culture using his force abilities to help the Verotians with their day to day operations.  One particular role that he had taken on was to council youth especially those who were troubled.

One day, one such troubled Youth was brought to Nurider.  This youth, who was 13 years old and quite tall even for Verotian standards, was named Urquisties.  Urquisties had a very strong presence in the force, stronger than most Jedi Nurider had known when he was at the Temple.  He had the most force-ability than any other Verotian which prompted Nurider to begin training him in the Jedi arts.

Urquisties seemed to absorb Nurider's teachings quickly.  He had learned telekinesis rather quickly most likely due to his enhanced mental capacities.  He trained faithfully with Nurider for two years when, something changed.  The tall teenage Urquisties began getting into fights with other youth his age often using his force abilities to gain an advantage.  Nurider scolded him for such actions and taught him to not give in to anger.  Urquisties would tell Nurider that he understood but behind Nurider's back he continued his behaviors and would often brag to others as to how powerful he was.  Urquisties had reached a mammoth height of 9 feet and this seemed to add to his arrogance and feeling of domination over others.

Late one night, Nurider found Urquisties fighting a group of teenagers near the great cliff of Verotia.  These teenagers were trying to escape but Urquisties was torturing them by either levitating them using the force or using his mind control to send pain into their bodies.  Nurider told Urquisties to stop, but all Urquisties could do is laugh and tell Nurider that he was now the teacher.

Knowing that Urquisties must be stopped, Nurider had attempted to take out the youth.  A lightsaber battle ensued between the two, but Urquisties didn't even break a sweat.  He laughed and through the force, Urquisties threw Nurider's lightsaber from his hands.  He then said that he felt Nurider had been holding back information from him and used his Jedi powers combined with his Verotian mind abilities to painfully extract all of Nurider's memories.  All Urquisties could do was laugh and say that he now knew everything there was to be a Jedi.

Urquisties arrogance had led him to forget his was standing at the edge of a cliff.  Although severely wounded Nurider managed to force push his large former apprentice over the cliff's edge.  Urquisties, still laughing, realized too late what had happened and fell over the edge of the cliff.  The next morning, Nurider and Verotian official searched the cliff.  No body was ever found, but Urquisties was believed to be dead with his body being devoured by the wild animals that frequent the cliffs.

After this, Nurider decided to leave the Verotian people much to their protest.  Nurider felt guilty about what happened to Urquisties and didn't want such an incident to happen again.

As a token of their appreciation for his years of service, the Verotians built Nurider a state of the art vessel that had technology that was not yet known by the rest of the universe.  Smox named this ship the Gallant Ride and restarted his exploration of these uncharted areas of the universe.

On his path, one day he came upon a ship with unknown markings and fresh blaster burns drifting in space.  Sensing one small life form on board the ship that seemed to be screaming to him through the force, Nurider decided to see if he could be of assistance.  On board he found no life forms except a newborn infant that was blue in skin color with red eyes.

Nurider had rescued the newborn baby boy but the ship was in such bad shape that no data could be collected about its former inhabitants.  The only piece of information he could collect was that the ship was named the Truskx.  This left him with no information as to where the boy came from.  His mission of exploration had abruptly changed to one of finding the home world from which the boy had come from so that he could be returned to his people.

This task proved to as challenging to Nurider who had never seen any other species with such characteristics.  After several weeks, Nurider had come to realize that the boy was going to be with him for a longer than he had originally expected, so he named him Danner and gave him the surname of Truskx after the name of the ship from which he was rescued.

Although his goal was to return Danner to his people, Nurider had taken on the task of raising the boy who seemed to have a strong connection with the force.  Given his experiences with Urquisties and his contemplations Nurider took time to contemplate the force and his beliefs.  He had refined his views on the dark side and realized that the force is not inherently good or bad.  It is just the force and what makes it good or bad is the intention in which it is used.  He also had come to think of force lightning as just another force tool that is at one’s disposal and had perfected how to use the technique as a defensive strategy without giving into one’s anger.

Over the years and during their explorations, Nurider and Danner had their share of adventure where they hopped from planet to planet.  Along these adventures Nurider trained Danner in the methods of the force teaching him his newly found philosophies including how to use force lightning and how to build his own lightsabers, a task Danner performed quite easily.  When Danner had turned 13 Nurider had put Danner through a version of the trials which he passed without difficulty.

Although they traveled throughout these areas it seemed they were never going to find Danner’s home world and it seemed that neither of them found that fact distressing as the duo had come to care for each other greatly.  Finally when Danner was 17, they found the Chiss home world which they believed to be Danner's home world because Danner shared the same physical characteristics.

They did not receive a warm reception here.  In fact, the Chiss displayed personalities that were as cold as their planet.  Danner and Nurider were granted entrance to the world so that the Chiss could “evaluate” Danner.  With the exception of young woman, the other Chiss treated Danner as if he were an alien.  Danner and this young woman, who was named Seelia, grew quite close and chose each other as mates.  When their relationship was discovered and the fact that Seelia was pregnant with Danner’s child the Chiss banished them from the planet.  They told Nurider that he was an outsider and was not welcome.  Danner was officially told that while it was impossible to determine his true origins, he would never be considered Chiss and he would never be allowed to return.  Seelia was also outcast for choosing such a mate.

Therefore, Nurider took Danner and Seelia with him aboard the Gallant Ride to resume his original quest.  But he wanted to find a safe haven for his newfound family--a goal that had become increasingly important with the birth of Danner and Seelia’s child on the way.

Eventually the three settled on a planet called Dancarto that was on the edge of the universe and baby Jarrett was born.  Two months after Jarrett’s birth, the trio awoke in the middle of the night to hear a vessel of unknown origin land.   Nurider had woken immediately sensed something strange through the force.  Nurider, Danner and Seelia began to run to the ship.

As they were running, Seelia was struck by the stray red streak.  While Danner carried Seelia and Jarrett back to the ship, Nurider looked around to see what had caused the “red streak”.  Despite his searches, he could see nothing but continued to receive strange sensations through the force.

Despite their attempts to save her, Seelia died from the streak that had hit her.  It was then that Nurider received another sensation through the force and he knew what must be done.  He and Danner returned to the known universe and made contact with the Jedi Order where they were welcomed into the order.
