Season 3 Reviews
"Jus in Belo" This episode which aired on Thursday, February 21, 2008 was probably one of the best episodes this season so far. It starts off with Sam and Dean searching Bela's place for the colt. The phone then rings and Bela, who is in her car, has some banter with Dean. During the conversation Dean accuses her of wanting to sell the colt to the highest bidder but Bela says he really doesn't know her and looks over to her passenger seat where the colt is sitting. Dean says he is going to chase her but Bela said she thought of that and looks in her rear-view mirror where we see flashing lights. With that we see the cops and FBI (along with Hendrickson who we met in season 2) run in and arrest them. Once they are in Jail Hendrickson taunts them a bit and says they will be going away. An FBI agent comes in and starts shooting Dean. It turns out he is possessed. Also the helicopter the FBI was going to use to take away Sam and Dean blows up and the police officers are found dead by one of the officers who is then attacked by a demon. Hendrickson then comes in and he shoots the sheriff who was going to let Sam and Dean out (he figured out they are the good guys I think). After killing the sheriff Hendrickson then starts attacking Sam and Dean. Figuring out that he was possessed Sam exorcises him and he lives. Now he realizes Sam and Dean are the good guys and that spirits are real. Sam and Dean teach Hendrickson, the secretary Helen, and the one cop how to place salt and the pentagram at the entrances. Ruby then comes in and says there are 30 demons around the place. She then asks for colt which Sam and Dean say it was stolen. Ruby then spills the beans to Dean about there being a big baddie coming. This annoyed Dean since Sam never told him. Not getting her way Ruby leaves. Ruby then suggests a spell that will kill all demons within a 1 mile radius but to do it they need to cut the heart out of a virgin. It turns out Helen is a virgin and Sam actually considers her plan but Dean says that would be going to their level. Dean instead wants to fight. They let the demons in and they fight them off with shotguns full of salt. They then have a tape recording of an exorcism that gets rid of all of the demons. Thinking its over Dean and Sam leave. After they leave Ruby comes by and tells them to watch the news where they find out that the police station they were at was destroyed. In an earlier clip a little girl comes in and asks for two guys one who is "really tall" and one who is "really cute". She announces herself as Lilly and then her eyes turn white and she kills Helen, Hendrickson, and the surviving officer. Ruby rubs their noses in this saying that at least with her plan would have been better and how they should follow her lead from here out. Review:
Overall this was a great episode.
We saw a lot of comedy mixed in and we are seeing different sides of both
Ruby and Bela. Ruby came on a bit strong in this episode while Bela is
showing signs that she might be as cold and calculating as we thought--that
maybe she is doing all of this for other reasons. It should prove
interesting when we get new episodes in a month or so. I'm really
loving this season!
