Always Two There Are

Chapter 4:  Sithly Intentions

As Carsallas walked up the ramp to his ship, he noticed that the apparition disappeared.  “I must be imaging things” he said to himself and vigorously shook his head.  In the back of his mind he heard, “You are not imagining anything.  We are still with you.”

“We?” the human asked out load.  “Did you not listen to what was said?” came the voice in the back of his mind.  “The apparition that you saw told you that it was the collection of dark side energies—the energies of the Sith.  We have been waiting a long time to be released.  It seems that it is the will of the force that you get to bring us out of our hibernation” the voice continued with an eerie laugh.  “Now proceed on to Korriban.”

Carsallas strode into the cockpit and looked at Ludaru, his hired hand, and said, “Prepare the ship.  We are about to embark for Korriban.”

“Korriban?” the bounty hunter exclaimed.  “That place is full of spooks and the such.  Some of the most powerful men in the galaxy have gone there to never return.  There is no way you will get me on that planet.”

“So be it, fool.”  Carsallas said as he raised his right hand in front of him and began to clench his fist.  Immediately Ludaru began gasping and reaching for his throat.  As the bounty hunter began to gasp, his body began to rise off the ground.  In the course of seconds, his body had been completely raised off of the ground and Carsallas began walking toward him.  With every step the Dark Jedi took, Ludaru’s floating body would move the same amount of feet in the air until Carsallas had effectively transported the choking Ludaru to the landing ramp.  Suddenly Carsallas released his grip and Ludaru had fallen to the floor.

“No, that death would be too good for you.  You should indeed pay for your lack of respect to the dark side.  There are many worse terrors in these jungles than me.” Carsallas said to Ludaru who had managed to make it back to his knees.  With ease Carsallas extended the index finger of his right hand and pushed Ludaru with the force several kilometers into the heart of the jungle.

With a grin on his face, Carsallas pressed the controls to raise the landing ramp and began to make his way back to the cockpit when the apparition reappeared to him.  “Good.  Very good.  I can feel the darkness inside you growing.  You have been in my presence for less than an hour and yet your control of the dark side has grown exponentially.  You indeed are the chosen one.”

“The chosen one?” Carsallas asked with a sneer.  “Yes, the one chosen to bring forth the Reign of the Sith to this galaxy!”  With that both the man and the apparition belched out menacing laughs.

After Carsallas had brought the ship out of the planet’s stratosphere and had effectively placed the ship into hyperspace he decided to walk back to his guest’s quarters.  At the sight of Carsallas the creature growled something that the man could not understand and made a vain attempt to try and escape from the cell.  “I am not worried my friend.  The only way out of there is for me to let you out.  And I will let you out, don’t worry.  But when I do, you will call me master” Carsallas said as he walked out of the secure cell.

“Spirit, come to me” Carsallas called out.  “Now you think you can beckon us?” the apparition said from the back of Carsallas’ mind.  “Yes, I beckon you and you best come when I call you.  For you need me as much as I need you.  Without me you and your religion will remain a forgotten aspect of this galaxy.” Carsallas retorted.

Suddenly the apparition appeared and said, “Good!” with a large grin.  “You certainly have what it takes to be a Sith.”  “Indeed I do” Carsallas acknowledged. “If you are as wise as I think you are spirits, you know what it is that I have planned.”

“Indeed we do.  It seems that you have acknowledged the rule that always two there are.  There are never any more and never any less.  Your choice is indeed an interesting one.  He would make quite the apprentice, there’s just one problem.” the apparition added.  “I know what the problem is, but I figured if any group can solve that problem it would be the Sith.” Carsallas retorted.

The apparition grinned behind its cloak.  “Indeed you are correct.  The technique used against your apprentice was one the Sith readily utilized so, therefore, we do know how to rectify it.  Once we arrive on Korriban and you become a full fledge Sith, you will know how to do it as well.”

Back on Yavin 4 a stunned Ludaru was awakened by a loud hiss.  Above him stood the largest quadraped he had ever seen.  It was quite obvious to the bounty hunter that this creature was not native to this galaxy and was likely something the Yuuzhan Vong had brought to this world during their occupation of it.  He also knew that this creature had all the intentions of having him for its next meal.
